Amsterdam within the highway A10
Amsterdam within the highway A10. Anyone who talks about living in Amsterdam often thinks of living within the highway A10. We call this ‘the ring’, because this highway surround Amsterdam looks like a ring . For many people, this ring highway is a demarcation of an area in which it is really nice to live. And don’t blame them! This is an area that is almost unrivalled in terms of liveliness and charm!
Within the ring you will find prominent parts of the city such as Amsterdam-Zuid, Amsterdam-West, where Oud-Zuid and Oud-West have formed the most popular residential areas for decades, including Hoofddorppleinbuurt, Museumkwartier, Schinkelbuurt, Stadionbuurt, Willemspark, Schinkelbuurt, Vondelbuurt, Westerpark, Rivierenbuurt and of course the Grachtengordel.
The area is a walhalla for gourmets and culinary connoisseurs. Shopping in the centre of Amsterdam (Kalverstraat) is at a high level, but recreation is also excellent in the Vondelpark.
The public transport connections are perfect, but not everywhere it is convenient to own a car. However, in Oud-Zuid it is still possible in many places not only to quickly obtain a parking permit. There are therefore plenty of parking spaces in many neighbourhoods.
These desirable neighbourhoods have a large number of people looking to buy a house, which makes them the least affordable areas to live in. And yet Amsterdam has a lot to offer in other places.
